Gratitude
In Movement & Mindfulness class, we discussed opportunities to say thank you to peers, friends, and family and shared some instances. We also learned the mashed potato dance move to emphasize alternating crossbody movement and groovy coordination! The children have the opportunity to explore leadership with our yoga ‘Sun Salutation’, so be sure to ask for a private class at home.
Fine Motor Skills
In music, the children are taking on challenges such as alternating your fingers when playing keyboard or ukulele. Beginners tend to use one finger to play twinkle star, for instance. While this may be easier at first, I compare it to a giraffe only using one leg to walk! Some students are using five fingers (with eyes closed) to play Do Re Mi Fa So in the ‘Woodpecker’ song, and then taking on the next challenging by using two hands at once (high Do and low Do)!
This weekend on Saturday 3/22 at 2:30pm some of my Suzuki guitar students will be playing and you’ll get to see some MMP alumni on stage with me.
